The IQAC constituted in the college
functions under the chairmanship of the Principal. The main functions of the
IQAC are the following.
v
To develop and raise the
capabilities of the institution in the various aspects of its functioning.
v
To identify the strengths and
weaknesses in the process and outcomes of teaching learning and evaluation.
v
To raise the capability to higher
levels.
v
To create a mechanism for
developing competencies and skill for higher quality and excellence.
v
Organizing discussions, workshops,
seminars, and promotion of quality research.
v
Preparation of Annual Quality
Assurance Report. (AQAR)
v
Acting as a nodal agency of the
institution quality related activities.
The Internal Quality
Assurance Cell (IQAC) was constituted in the college on 10-12-2003 as per
the notification of the NAAC, dated 04-12-2003. It was reconstituted twice
due to the change in its chairmanship. The IQAC monitors the functioning of
curricular and co-curricular programmes of the college with a view to
maintaining quality of performance.
The
IQAC of the college was re-constituted on 18th April 2008
following the retirement of Prof. Jose Augustine as Principal. Mrs. Alice
Mathew, Principal, took charge as the new chair person of the IQAC and Mr.
Varghese K.Cheriyan as the co-ordinator. The re-constituted IQAC prepared
the plan of action for the academic year 2008-09.
